Our Philosophy

At Layerde, our work is guided by three principles: precision in design, responsibility in how we make, and a mindset that’s always moving forward.

The Making Process

At Layerde, every product we create is a reflection of precision, intention, and care. From the first sketch to the final shipment, our process is built to minimize waste, ensure quality, and bring meaningful, modern objects into the world.
Here’s how it all comes together:
It all starts with curiosity. We explore material behavior, emerging lifestyles, and design movements from around the world. Nature, architecture, and texture guide our direction—each collection begins with the desire to make something that feels original and emotionally resonant.
Once an idea takes shape, our design team begins digital modeling. We refine proportions, structure, and balance through multiple iterations, printing prototypes to test and evolve the form. This digital-first approach lets us create with precision, flexibility, and zero material waste in the development phase.
We use plant-based filaments like PLA, derived from corn starch and sugarcane—materials that are biodegradable and compostable. They're better for the planet and allow us to sculpt beautiful, durable pieces without the footprint of traditional plastics.
We don’t believe in excess. Every piece is either made to order or produced in limited runs—so nothing is overproduced or left unused. It’s a slower process, but it ensures every object is fresh from our studio and not from a warehouse shelf.
After printing, each piece is checked, sanded, and polished by hand. We smooth the layers while preserving the unique character of the design, so the final piece feels as refined as it looks.
Your product is wrapped using compostable or reusable materials—like recycled paper filler, cardboard boxes, and custom cotton bags. We keep packaging minimal, protective, and in line with our aesthetic.
When it’s ready, your order ships directly from our studio. This hands-on approach helps us ensure the quality, timing, and experience feel personal—just like the piece itself.
